Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT)
A Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) supports preschool children with disabilities in their homes, classrooms, or community settings. SEITs provide individualized instruction to help children develop academic, social, and communication skills alongside their peers. In New York State, this role requires certification in Students with Disabilities (Birth–Grade 2) and a commitment to collaborating with families and educators.

Multidisciplinary Evaluation (MDE)
A Multidisciplinary Evaluation (MDE) is a set of assessments that look at how your child is growing and learning. Specialists work together to understand your child’s strengths and areas where they may need extra support, such as speech, movement, or social skills. The results help determine if your child qualifies for special education services and what kind of support will best meet their needs.
